[TUTORIAL] How to hex-edit files

Stuff required for this tutorial:

• Hex editor (attached)
• A File to hex
• A Good pair of brains

First of all, we're going to download and open the hex editor.
UnRAR the hex editor with WinRAR or WinZip to a folder on your desktop,
then run the *.exe file.

Once it's open, go to File -> Open and select ArmyOps.exe from your AA's System Folder.
Now you will see a lot of hex code on the right, and some characters on the right.
Now hit CTRL+F, and enter 'GetCurrentProsId'. Now edit one of the characters in GetCurrentProsId to another character, like GetCurxentProsId. Now go to file and select 'Save as...' and save it to your Desktop as ArmyOps.exe.

Backup the original armyops.exe, place the hexed one in your system folder
and launch it. You will now get an error with 'GetCurxenprosId', this is not an effective hex, but you can see what you have done.

I've made this because a lot of people have used hex edited files lately, like the hacked PB by -=rapid=- and the old server mods.

If someone didn't understand how they should go about doing this, then they needn't bytehack ANYTHING in risks of getting a hardware ban or worse.

Could you make a native hook with explanation, when you have never coded before in your entire life?

Indeed, when the PB files are not hexed correctly, they will cause a HW ban.
Only correctly hexed pb files work, all others will get you banned..

Don't know if I'm just retarded or what, but when I press ctrl F and enter GetCurrentProsID it comes up with an error saying the string is not found

Try finding it manually, or try GetCur when searching..

Hi ^^
Mind If I ask a question? I'm trying to learn how the Hex Editor works ^^ so as you guys probably know much more them me I'll try to ask ^^
I attached an image for a excel file I opened in the Hex Editor, I don't know yet if it's right or not, so Is it normal to show that many symbols in the text? Or I made some mistake in the configuration or library?
