Thread: Maplestory on a Virtual Machine Impossible?

    Maplestory on a Virtual Machine Impossible?

    I tried these:

    1. Microsoft virtual PC 2007 - Cannot play maple due to the virtual display driver unable to support maple...

    2. VMware - Goes black then stays white forever, suspect that VMware does not support direct x hardware acceleration, and it's virtual display acceleration is not powerful enough to support...

    3. VirtualBox - Can play maple, but maple always gets HTD after 3~9 minutes...

    Which one does work? VMWare Workstation?

    Do you know any version that has been confirmed working? It's annoying to keep installing windows over and over again.

    On Virtual box Windows 2000 doesn't even support Direct 3D so you can't even open MapleStory. Error Code : 214746259 (unspecified error)

    Lol, for Vmware: install vmware tools, download Wind3d, restart in safe mode, install wind3d, restart and download/install directx 9.0c

    For virtualbox: after making a virtual machine, go to settings and enable the 2d/3d video support. Then install guest additions, download/install directx 9.0c, download wind3d, install it in safe mode.

    If u did everything well,

    DirectDraw Accelerator and Direct3D Accelerator should be both enabled in, Run>dxdiag
    Agp is not important to run maple.

    Then install maple and everything should run fine.

    1. Download VMware, Maple works fine with any version.
    2. Install Win XP
    3. Install VMware Tools but dont update. Latest version of VMware Tools dosnt work well with MapleStory.
    4. Find file Windows XP Professional.vmx
    5. open file with notepad and add this 2 lines to enable D3D support:
    Code:
    mks.enable3d = "TRUE"
    svga.vramSize = 67108864
    6. Install Maple and play.

    It works for some people, it doesn't work for others.
